A Glastonbury Youth & Family Services Creative Experiences Production  ~ Summer 2017 ~

Hi Everyone!!

While we aren't sure what this summer will bring, Jason and Jess have come up with a fun opportunity for families of Glastonbury to come together and create! Below is the rules for our Broadway Moment Video Challenge!

If you would like to go straight to our Facebook group make sure to like below, and the Facebook Event for this challenge is right on that page!

Rules and regulations

Hey there, thespians of Glastonbury! While all our theaters are empty for the time being, ‘the show must go on!’ (In our own homes, of course.) So gather your family members, pets, stuffed animals, and anything else in your home, to help you record a 30-90 second video recreating a favorite scene from a Broadway musical. Post the video to your own page and tag us for your family’s chance to win free cast t-shirts for our next summer musical, as well as waived registration fees. You and/or your family may create and post additional videos for a greater chance to win!

Eligibility requirements

In order to win, the creator of the video must be a resident of Glastonbury, CT. To claim “waived registration fees” individual contest winners within the family must be at least 7 years old by the date of registration for their preferred musical. (Our summer musicals have a cast age requirement of at least 7 by the registration closing date. T-shirt prizes may be awarded to family members less than 7 years old.)  Please keep video submissions within the 30-90 timeframe, or they may be disqualified.

Contest entry and dates

All videos featuring minors must be uploaded to the Facebook account of a parent or legal guardian. Links to videos should be posted to a personal FB page and “Glastonbury Youth and Family Services” FB page must be tagged in the caption along with the video.

If contest participants do not have Facebook, an email from a parent or legal guardian containing a link to the video, as well as written permission for Town of Glastonbury (ToG) social media administrators to share the video on ToG social media sites, should be sent to Jason.stankowski@glastonbury-ct.gov.

Video links must be posted or emailed no later than midnight on Sunday, May 24, 2020 to be eligible for the contest. For the community to enjoy your submission(s), please select to make your video viewable to the public.

The winning video will receive up to three (3) waived $35.00 registration fees for family members to participate in our 2021 summer musical as well as (3) free cast t-shirts (normally $15.00 each) for a total value representing up to $150.00.  The award has no cash value.  This contest is sponsored in conjunction with Friends of Glastonbury Youth, (FOGY), a Glastonbury based 501c non-profit. “Friends of Glastonbury Youth, alone and in conjunction with other organizations, support and funds group and individual activities for the youth of Glastonbury, and honors individuals who devote their time and skills to the betterment of Glastonbury's youth.” Please see fogy-ct.org for more information.

How a winner is selected

Each eligible submission will represent one opportunity for selection and will be numbered in the order they are posted and tagged. A number will be selected randomly from all eligible submissions, and prize winners will be notified via FB Messenger, or through the email used to submit the video. An announcement will be made on Tuesday, May 26th 2020 on the “Glastonbury Youth and Family Services” Facebook page. Prizes must be claimed by the end of the registration period for the 2021 Y&FS Summer Musical (dates and title TBA in early 2021).
